Pico 4S Headset Leak Hints at Apple Vision Pro-Inspired Design

Pico 4S – the alleged mixed reality headset – has surfaced online via leaked images. It is being developed by ByteDance-owned Pico. The leak shows the headset’s design, which appears to feature a fascia inspired by Apple’s mixed reality gear, the Vision Pro. The development comes months after the Pico 4S was spotted on a South Korean certification website, listing various specifications and hinting at an imminent launch.

According to an Android Headlines reportThe Pico 4S mixed-reality headset will have a glass front with two cameras in the middle and two each on the top and bottom. It also appears to have a USB Type-C port on the right and a button on the left. The headset is said to have a cushioned cup for the wearer’s comfort.

The headband is also visible, with thick padding for the back of the wearer’s head, and a dial to adjust the fit.

The alleged images suggest that it could come with ring-less hand controllers similar to other mixed reality headsets like the Meta Quest 3 and HTC Vive XR Elite. The controllers appear to have a four-button configuration, with two presumably for in-game controls and two for navigating the user interface (UI). A single joystick complements the button layout, while it could also feature a trigger placed on the bottom half of the controllers.

The report also includes images of the Pico 4S’s likely accessories. It is said to come with wrist straps for the controllers and a carrying case in a gray color scheme.

Pico 4S Specifications (Expected)

The Pico 4S mixed reality headset is said powered by Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2, the same chipset that powers the Meta Quest 3. However, it could come with some upgrades. The SoC is said to have two 2.05GHz cores and four 2.36GHz cores, paired with 12GB of RAM.

The model number is said to be A9210 and the device is said to feature Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 capabilities.
