Pictured: China’s nerve-wracking ‘knife-edge’ mountain that daredevils traverse despite its steep slopes – and without safety fences

Some people like to literally live on the edge of life.

Incredible images and videos show China’s unnerving, razor-sharp mountain, with a ridge so steep, narrow and smooth it resembles a knife.

And yet tourists still cross it, despite the obvious danger: there are no safety fences.

One reason for taking risks is that conquering the ridge – located in Gaoyi Ridge Scenic Area – is said to bring good luck. Some might say that would-be hikers should first stock up on supplies elsewhere.

A YouTuber who attempted the climb nearly gave up when he reached the top, reporting that he was “shaking.”

Conquering the ridge – which has no safety railings – is supposed to bring good luck. One YouTuber who attempted it nearly gave up at the top, revealing that he was “shaking”.

Then a subtitle appears that reads: ‘Sorry, I don’t have the courage to continue.’

A moment later, one of the two daredevils who were taking pictures above walks back down and squeezes past them, saying he’s “scared.”

‘Walk East’ follows him, relieved that he ‘has someone to follow’.

The Gaoyi Ridge Scenic Area (also called Gaoqi Ling) covers 51 square kilometers and is located in Chenzhou, Hunan Province.

Besides sharp mountains, there are also lagoons and multi-colored rock faces.
