Pixel 9 Pro Fold pricing, release date, images and even a promotional video have leaked
At this point, it almost feels like Google and Apple are competing to see whose upcoming phones can leak more, with both the Pixel 9 line and iPhone 16 series seeing new rumors popping up almost daily. But Google might just win, as several new leaks about the Pixel 9 Pro Fold have surfaced today.
First up, we have some news on the release date. We already know that this phone will be announced along with the rest of the Pixel 9 line on August 13th, and according to Android HeadlinesAll of these phones will be available for pre-order immediately after the announcement.
While the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL are reportedly launching on August 22, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold isn’t expected to launch until September. The site lists it as launching on September 4.
Promising prices
So it may still be a while before the Pixel Fold 2 comes out, but there’s better news on the price, according to leaker @OnLeaks (in collaboration with 91Mobile phones), the Pixel 9 Pro Fold costs $1,799 for a 256GB model and $1,919 for a 512GB version. That’s a lot of money, but it’s the exact same price as the original Google Pixel Fold, so apparently there won’t be a price hike this year.
They don’t include pricing for other regions, but for reference, the Pixel Fold cost £1,749 for a 256GB model and £1,869 for a 512GB model, so we may see those prices again in the UK. There’s no Australian price to compare it to as the original Pixel Fold didn’t launch there, and it’s questionable whether or not the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will.
Anyway, the same source also shared some promotional images of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, some of which you can check out below.
These reveal a few details, including that the phone will apparently have an 8-inch foldable display and a 6.3-inch outer display. Both of those are larger than the Pixel Fold, with the original model having a 7.6-inch foldable display and a 5.8-inch cover display.
Finally, @OnLeaks also shared a promotional video of the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, this time in collaboration with Android HeadlinesThe video doesn’t reveal much that hasn’t been leaked before, but it does show that the Pixel 9 Pro Fold can unfold completely flat, unlike the original Pixel Fold. You can see a screenshot like this in the images above.
While we’d still take all of this with a grain of salt, a lot of this information comes from what appears to be official marketing materials, so we’d say it’s likely accurate. We’ll know very soon, but in the meantime, stay tuned to TechRadar as there are sure to be more Pixel leaks in the coming days.
