Pixel 9 Pro Fold users can now use two screens at once on Google Meet
The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is getting a new feature on one of the company’s first-party apps that’s supposed to improve the meeting experience. Google Meet now lets users use the phone’s indoor and outdoor cameras simultaneously during video conferences. While this feature was initially announced with the Pixel 9 Pro Fold’s launch back in August, it’s now rolling out with a new Google Meet update.
Google Meet feature on Pixel 9 Pro Fold
After the latest Google Meet update for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold (first spotted by Android Authority) users can now access an exclusive feature on the handset. This allows them to use the handset’s indoor and outdoor cameras simultaneously during a Meet. The feature could potentially allow multiple participants to join the video conference without having to gather around a single laptop.
Once the action is activated, other participants can see the user through the front camera and simultaneously see what is happening in front of them.
Google first teased the feature during the Pixel 9 Pro Fold launch in August, but it’s only just beginning to roll out. It’s reportedly available to users with personal and work space accounts. Gadgets 360 employees were able to verify its availability on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
Other Measurement Features
Last month, the Mountain View tech giant began rolling out an artificial intelligence (AI) feature called “Take notes for me.” As the name suggests, it uses Gemini—Google’s large language model (LLM)—to transcribe and summarize salient points during a meeting.
First previewed last year and in beta until its August rollout, it appears as a Gemini AI icon in the upper-right corner of the Meet interface. By default, the feature only takes notes, not transcribes. However, users can also enable transcription of the meeting, which will create a new document in the organizer’s Google Drive.
The feature is available to Google Workspace users who have the Gemini Enterprise, Gemini Education Premium, or AI Meetings & Messaging add-ons.
