PM Modi arrives in Delhi after concluding two-country visit to Russia and Austria – Times of India


NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in New Delhi on Thursday morning after completing his two-country visit Russia And Austria.
After he completed his visit, Prime Minister Modi shared a post on X thanking the Austrian Chancellor, the government and the people for their warm welcome and hospitality.
He also called this visit extremely productive and described it as ‘historic’.
“My visit to Austria was historic and immensely productive. New strength has been added to the friendship between our nations. I am happy to have attended various programmes during my stay in Vienna. Thank you to Chancellor @karlnehammer, the Austrian government and people for their hospitality and kindness,” PM Modi said on X.
Prime Minister Modi also attended a community event in Vienna on Wednesday and declared that the wait for a historic day has come to an end, marking their 75th anniversary of friendship.
He further expressed his gratitude and joy over the enthusiastic welcome and acknowledged that it was a historic moment as an Indian Prime Minister visited Austria after 41 years.
When Prime Minister Modi took the stage at a community event, he was greeted with chants of “Modi, Modi.”
The community warmly welcomed Prime Minister Modi and the event showcased the strong bond between India and its diaspora.
After this, Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer expressed his appreciation to the teams involved in organizing Prime Minister Modi’s successful state visit to Austria.
Further down in a post on X, Chancellor Nehammer acknowledged the dedication and hard work of numerous individuals and teams, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Federal Army, the police, protocol officers and many others behind the scenes. He thanked them for their professional planning, organization and execution of the visit.
“To make a state visit as big as @narendramodi’s to Austria a success, dozens of employees are working intensively for weeks. On the day of the visit, hundreds more are involved,” Nehammer said.
“Many thanks to the teams of @MFA_Austria, @bkagvat and also to the Federal Army, the police, the protocol and the many helping hands in the background for the professional planning, the careful organization and the perfect execution. Thank you!” he added.
Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer and Prime Minister Modi appreciated the tradition of cultural exchanges and also noted the growing interest in yoga and Ayurveda among Austrians.
Both leaders also recognised the importance of skills development and the mobility of qualified personnel to support broader engagement in high-tech sectors.
In this context, both leaders welcomed the entry into force of the bilateral agreement on migration and mobility, which provides an institutional framework to facilitate such exchanges while combating irregular migration, the PMO said.
In particular, Prime Minister Modi held important meetings with Austrian leaders, including Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen and Chancellor Nehammer, to strengthen bilateral cooperation and explore new avenues of cooperation between India and Austria.
Prime Minister Modi also highlighted his interaction with business leaders from both countries.
“Met business leaders from India and Austria. Our countries are confident that they can leverage the many opportunities ahead to strengthen commercial and trade relations,” he said, underlining mutual confidence in strengthening economic ties.
PM Modi arrived in Vienna on June 9 evening for a day-long state visit. Before that, he was on a two-day official visit to Moscow, where he met Russian President Vladimir Putin.
