‘PM Modi believes in buying MLAs like goats and toppling governments’: Kharge steps up attack on BJP | India News – Times of India
Kharge, who was speaking at a rally in Jharkhand, where the elections were held, also criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) ‘divisive’ election slogans, alleged preferential treatment for selecting some businessmen and ‘unfulfilled’ election promises .
“Modi ji believes in suppressing opposition, toppling governments and buying MLAs like goats,” Kharge said at the meeting.
Referring to UP CM Yogi Adityanath‘S ‘Batenge toh Katenge’ (will be slaughtered, if divided) slogan, Kharge said the CM embodies the saying ‘Mukh me Ram, bagal me chhuri’ (A wolf in sheep’s clothing). He further alleged that Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Shah have deployed the ED, CBI and other central agencies against opposition leaders, but added, “We are not afraid. We have fought for independence and sacrificed our lives.”
Kharge also accused Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah of running the central government alongside ‘Adani and Ambani’, alleging that ‘four people are running India: Modi, Shah, Adani and Ambani, while Rahul Gandhi and I are trying to save the government. the constitution and democracy.”
Lashing out at the Prime Minister, Kharge said, “Modi believes he is not organic” and alleged, “He is a habitual liar who never keeps his promises… Has a ‘Golden Age’ come to Gujarat?”
“We have tolerated Modi as Prime Minister and Prime Minister for 25 years. He supports those who exploit backward people and women… PM Modi is afraid to visit Manipur; I challenge him to go there,” the Congress leader claimed.
Attacking the UP Chief Minister, Kharge said, “A true Yogi cannot use language like ‘batenge toh katenge’ (if we are divided, we will be wiped out). This language is used by terrorists. Yogi is the head of a mutt, wears saffron robes, but believes in ‘mukh me Ram, bagal me chhuri’ (A wolf in sheep’s clothing).”
On Saturday, Kharge accused the BJP and its leaders of making provocative speeches and misleading people by diverting attention from real issues. He also stirred things up with his comments against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adityanath. Although he did not mention anyone by name, Kharge suggested that many leaders live in the guise of sadhus and have now become politicians, and some have even become prime ministers.
“Many leaders live under the guise of sadhus and have now become politicians. Some have even become prime ministers. They wear ‘gerua’ clothes and have no hair on their heads… I would say to the BJP, wear white clothes or If you are a sanyasi, wear ‘gerua’ clothes and stay away from politics. On one side you wear ‘gerua’ clothes, and on the other side you say ‘batoge toh katoge’… They spread hatred among the people. the people and try to divide them,” Kharge had said on Sunday.
However, Kharge’s comments did not go down well with the BJP, which accused the Congress chief of being ‘anti-Hindu and anti-Sanatan’.
“This is the true philosophy and DNA of the Congress, which is anti-Hindu and anti-Sanatan. The Congress now says that those who wear ‘gerua’ and saffron, the attire of a sadhu, will not be allowed to join politics. But will they ever? Say this about Maulanas and Maulvis? This is the same Congress that talked about ‘saffron terrorism’ and ‘Hindu terror’… They will never say such things about other religions. This shows how the Congress has harmed the Hindu faith to gain votes from their vote bank… They consider ‘batoge toh katoge’ as communal and voting for jihad as secular,” a BJP spokesperson had responded to Kharge’s allegations.
