World leader PM Modi deserves the Nobel Peace Prize: top investor Mark Mobius
NEW DELHI: Experienced investor Mark Mobius believes that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has the potential to become one of the world’s foremost peacemakers, and claims that Prime Minister Modi deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for his ability to bridge political divisions on the world stage. In an interview with IANS, 88-year-old Mobius praised Prime Minister Modi’s diplomatic acumen, especially amid the escalating conflict in West Asia and the ongoing War between Russia and Ukraine.
“Prime Minister Modi is both a great leader and a great human being. He is a very, very good person,” Mobius emphasized, adding that Prime Minister Modi’s ability to deal with diverse political views positions him as a vital force for peace. “His role I think he will become increasingly important internationally, because he is able to have a dialogue with all sides of the political spectrum worldwide. He could become a very important peacemaker in the future,” he said.
Mobius, known for pioneering the first emerging markets fund, did not hesitate to suggest that Prime Minister Modi was worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize. According to him, Prime Minister Modi is “capable of almost anything” and has proven that he deserves this global honor.

Looking back at India’s diplomatic stance, Mobius pointed out the country’s unique position as a fair and neutral player on the world stage. “India has shown that it is capable of being neutral and fair to all, and the country is very well placed to act as a mediator for peace,” Mobius said, marking Prime Minister Modi’s characterization as a potential important mediator in global affairs.
India’s neutrality, especially in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, has enabled Prime Minister Modi to consistently call for peace and stability. His visit to Ukraine in August, the first by an Indian prime minister since establishing diplomatic ties in 1992, reinforced India’s commitment to promoting dialogue and stability in war-torn regions.
When asked about the shared perspectives with Prime Minister Modi, Mobius noted, “The common things between us are looking forward, not looking back, and being more optimistic about what is happening globally.”
As global turbulence increases, Mobius sees as Prime Minister Modi a leader ready to make a lasting impact, someone capable of bridging divisions and defending peace across borders.
