NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday conveyed his wishes to the people of Uttarakhand as they celebrated their 25th State Foundation Day.
Through a video message onViksit Uttarakhand‘ for a ‘Viksit Bharat’ in the next quarter century.

“Many congratulations to all my relatives of the state on the silver jubilee year of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. This decade will be the decade of Uttarakhand,” PM Modi said in his video address. while emphasizing the central government’s commitment to the progress of Uttarakhand.
“Today marks the beginning of Silver Jubilee celebrations of Uttarakhand. We must now begin the journey of the next 25 years for a bright future for the state. The nation will see our Viksit Uttarakhand resolution for a Viksit Bharat fulfilled in this regard. For 25 years, the central government has left no stone unturned to ensure the development of the state,” he added.
While discussing the economic performance of the state, Prime Minister Modi noted, “Uttarakhand secured the first position in the SDG index last year. In the last 1-2 years, the state’s growth rate has increased by over 1.25 percent. The state’s GST contribution has also increased by 14 percent. The average annual income of the state has grown to Rs 2.6 lakh.
He then addressed the responsibilities of tourism and urged visitors to stay clean. “I have four appeals to the tourists visiting the state. Make cleanliness your priority every time you visit the mountains. Pledge not to use single-use plastics. Stay outspoken for the locals. Follow the traffic rules of the region you are visiting Learn and follow the rules and regulations of religious places,” Prime Minister Modi urged.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the foundation day celebrations at Dehradun’s Parade Ground along with CDS Anil Chauhan, Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd), State Secretary Radha Raturi and other officials.
CM Dhami presented at the event Uttarakhand Ratna Awards to five recipients: CDS Anil Chauhan, folk singer Pritam Bharatwan, Mahesh Kudiyal, Mata Mangala for social services and Hemant Pandey for cinema and art.
“I congratulate all the people of Uttarakhand on the 25th State Foundation Day. I bow to all those who sacrificed their lives for the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the third decade of the 21st century will be the decade of Uttarakhand and we will all strive to make his words come true,” CM Dhami told ANI.
