Prime Minister Modi praises Bodos for parting with weapons
Say that Bodo Peace Agreement has transformed the lives of the community and highlights the role of the BJP in transitioning Assam from a disturbed area to ushering in development and lasting peace. Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Bodo community for giving up violence and embracing peace. This is the second reference to Bodos by the Prime Minister in as many days.
Prime Minister Modi addressed the first Bodoland Mahotsav in Delhi on Friday, where he expressed satisfaction over the progress made in the region after the peace accord, where more than 10,000 youth in Assam chose peace over violence.
Speaking at the ‘HT Leadership Summit’ on Saturday, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the crucial role of the BJP in Assam’s journey from a ‘disturbed area’ to a beacon of development, citing historic agreements such as the Karbi Anglong and Bru- Reang pacts that promoted similar transitions.
