PM Modi seduces CEOs with semiconductor pitch | India News – Times of India
Prime Minister Modi on Tuesday assured that predictable and stable policies will be in place to support India’s ambition to make semiconductors that meet national and global requirements.
During an interaction with managers prior to Semicon IndiaModi wanted to position India as “a trusted partner in a diversified semiconductor supply chain” at a time when countries like China and the US are offering incentives to attract investments in the chip industry.
During the meeting, the prime minister presented India as “a great market for investments in high-tech infrastructure” and stressed that the government had relaxed regulations and improved infrastructure. The official statement said that the CEOs told Modi that the centre of gravity of the semiconductor industry is starting to shift to India.
