PM Modi’s birthday gifts auction: Ram Temple models, Paralympic memorabilia and more to be sold from September 17 to October 2; know how to participate | India News – Times of India


The auction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s gifts will begin on Tuesday, September 17, to mark his birthday, and will continue until October 2, coinciding with Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday. The auction, which will be held online and open to the public, will be held on Tuesday, September 17, to mark his birthday.

A range of gifts for auction, including sports memorabilia and cultural treasures


The auction will feature over 600 gifts received by the prime minister, including sports memorabilia from the 2024 Paralympic Games, replicas of the Ram Temple, a silver veena and more. The combined base price for all these items is estimated to be Rs.1.5 crore, according to Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. The base prices of the mementos range from Rs.600 to Rs.8.26 lakh.

Basic prices set by government commission


A government committee has set the base prices for the gifts. While walking through the exhibition at the National Gallery of Modern Art, where the gifts are displayed, Minister Shekhawat noted that Prime Minister Modi has continued his practice of auctioning off gifts, a tradition he started when he was prime minister. The proceeds from the auction will go to the Namami Gange Project, which works to clean and conserve the Ganga River.

Sixth Edition of Prime Minister Modi’s E-Auction


This auction is the sixth in a series that began in January 2019. In the previous five editions, the auctions have raised over Rs.50 crore. Like previous auctions, the proceeds from this auction will support the Namami Gange Project. The minister urged the public to participate, stressing that this initiative will contribute to the conservation of the environment and general welfare.

Collection of traditional and religious artifacts


The auction will feature a wide range of traditional art forms, sculptures, indigenous handicrafts and religious artefacts. Notable items include temple models, statues of Hindu deities and unique works such as Pichwai paintings, Khaadi shawls and silver filigree art. The auction highlights India’s rich cultural heritage through these beautiful pieces.

Valuable items include Paralympic memorabilia and a model of the Ram Temple


Some of the most expensive items in the auction include sports shoes of Paralympic medallists Ajeet Singh, Simran Sharma and Nishad Kumar, which have a base price of Rs.2.86 lakh. Other notable pieces include a badminton racket of Paralympic medallists, valued at Rs.5.50 lakh, and a model of the Ram Temple, also priced at Rs.5.50 lakh. Besides, a peacock statue is priced at Rs.3.30 lakh, a Ram Darbar statue at Rs.2.76 lakh and a silver veena at Rs.1.65 lakh.

Affordable items for public participation


Besides the valuable items, there are also cheaper souvenirs to encourage public participation. The most affordable gifts are cotton angavastram, caps and scarves, each priced at Rs.600, making the auction accessible to a wider audience while contributing to a noble cause.

Step by step process for buyers to participate in PM Mementos Portal online auction


Step 1: Register
  • Click on the ‘Register Buyer’ button in the top right corner of the PM Mementos Portal homepage.
  • Enter your mobile number, email address and password on the registration page.
  • Please agree to the auction terms and conditions by checking the box.
  • Enter the One Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number and email address.
  • Complete the registration by filling in information such as name, gender, date of birth and address on the Profile Information page.
  • Please review the information and click ‘Submit’.
  • A confirmation message will appear saying ‘Successfully signed in’.

Step 2: Log in
  • Log in to the portal with your email address or mobile number and password.

Step 3: Aadhaar Authentication
  • The system checks for Aadhaar authentication.
  • If required, you will be redirected to the Aadhaar authentication page to complete this step.

Step 4: Browse the catalog
  • Once you have logged in, you can browse the catalog to view the items available for auction, including those listed under ‘Live Auctions’.

Step5: Add to cart
  • Add the desired items to the shopping cart and enter your bid amount.
  • To participate in the auction, you must add items to your shopping cart.

Step 6: Participate in the auction
Once the items are in your shopping cart, you can bid and participate in the auction until it ends.
Step 7: Payment
  • After the auction has ended and you are the highest bidder, you can pay through the portal.
  • The winning item will be shipped to your address in the country.
