Koci Selamaj, from Eastbourne, East Sussex, was arrested in the early morning hours in the seaside town on Sunday and a light-colored Nissan Micra was seized in a residential street about half a mile away.
A 36-year-old man has been charged with the murder of primary school teacher Sabina Nessa.

He will appear in court in Willesden on Tuesday.
Ms Nessa was killed when she was walking through Cator Park in Kidbrooke, south-east London, on September 17, on her way to meet a friend.
Her body was found nearly 24 hours later, covered in leaves, near a community center in the park.
The suspect is said to have worked as a food delivery driver in Eastbourne and was originally from Eastern Europe.
An employee at a newsagent near the flat where he lived said he would come to the store to top up his phone or power key, but wouldn’t talk.
“He was so quiet, he didn’t say anything, just came to top up and left,” the store employee said.
Ms. Nessa taught for a year at Rushey Green Primary School in Catford, also in South East London.

On Friday, hundreds of people — including her sister — gathered for a candlelight vigil organized in Pegler Square, Kidbrooke, in her memory.
Jebina Yasmin Islam, Ms. Nessa’s sister, collapsed addressing the crowd.
She said: ‘Words can’t describe how we feel, this feels like we’re stuck in a bad dream and can’t get out – our world is shattered, we’re just lost for words.
“No family should have to go through what we go through.”
Lisa Ramsarran, of the Crown Prosecution Service, said: ‘The Crown Prosecution Service has authorized the Metropolitan Police Service to charge Koci Selamaj, 36, with one murder.

A light-colored Nissan Micra was impounded in a residential street
The CPS London Homicide Unit approved the charge after examining a file of evidence received from the Metropolitan Police Service.
The defendant’s first hearing will be held on September 28, 2021.
“The Crown Prosecution Service is reminding all concerned that the accused is under criminal proceedings and has the right to a fair trial.
“It is extremely important that there is no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online that could harm this proceeding in any way.”
