Pope Leo XIV has voted several times in his home Illinois several times in recent years, according to public archives, including an absent vote in the presidential election last November.
According to Records by Will County, in the suburbs of Chicago, the Pope has voted in three Republican primers since 2012 and at that time no democratic primaries. He recently voted in a Republican Primary in 2016.
The data shows that he did not vote in Will County in the 2020 presidential elections or in the 2022 interim elections.
In Illinois, where Democrats dominate in elections throughout the state, voters do not register as members of a political party. American citizens who live outside the country remain eligible to vote.
