Popular stove sold in stores across Australia urgently recalled due to risk of ‘serious burns’
Fan heaters sold in hundreds of stores across Australia for five years are being urgently recalled because they pose a fire hazard.
The Olimpia Splendid Australia stoves were recalled on Friday by Product Safety Australia and Energy Safe Victoria.
They were sold in hundreds of stores from July 2019 to June 2024.
The heaters were sold at Harvey Norman, Good Guys, Bi-Rite Electrical and Betta Electrical/Home Living across Australia.
Smaller shops and some independent retailers also sold the fans.

Consumers are entitled to a full refund when they return the item to the store where they purchased it.
The affected models are the Caldo Relax with code number 99316 and the Caldo Whisper with code number VH-2000.

Product safety warnings have alerted buyers that the heating elements can cause serious burns and property damage (pictured is the Caldo Relax fan heater)
“This product does not comply with the relevant electrical standard. The heater may overheat and catch fire,” the recall notice states.
‘There is a risk of serious burns and material damage if the heater overheats and catches fire.’
People should immediately stop using the fans and unplug them.
