Predator hunter confronts suspected pedophile at his home and makes him confess on camera to horrific child abuse – before the monster flees inside and does the unthinkable

A suspected pedophile committed suicide shortly after admitting to a hunter who confronted him at his home that he had viewed horrific child pornography.

Donald Letcher, 60, was captured on camera describing his viewing habits in detailed terms to Predator Poachers’ Alex Rosen.

Rosen convinced him to confess to his crimes after he showed up at his home in Canova, South Dakota.

He then called the police, but before Letcher could be arrested, he returned to his home and shot himself in the head.

“The officer turns to him, Letcher goes into the house and we hear a bang,” Rosen explained to the talk show host Breanna Morello.

“He didn’t really realize what it was because it wasn’t a hard shot. I think he had a .22, and then the officer kicked the door in.”

Rosen’s team captured the aftermath on camera, showing police frantically trying to enter the building.

“The cameraman walks around the building and sees him bleeding to death with a hole in his head. A few hours later he is airlifted to the hospital where he is pronounced dead,” Rosen adds.

The paedophile hunter said he first made contact with Letcher via the messaging app Telegram, where the suspect “behaved very sexually” and asked for nude photos of what he thought was a 12-year-old girl.

Rosen explained that he had gotten Letcher to confess to viewing child pornography depicting infants as young as babies in order to secure a conviction because state law was vague about soliciting pornography from a fictitious child.

He was unaware that Letcher had previously been convicted in Bridgewater in 1995 of two counts of sexually abusing his girlfriend’s nine-year-old daughter.

However, the charges were quashed as a formality and Letcher was acquitted a year later.

It wasn’t his only run-in with the law, however. In 2022, Letcher was convicted of running over a six-year-old girl.

Letcher was given only 25 days in jail for the offense he committed while driving while intoxicated.

Rosen posted his interaction with the creepy guy on X, where the video has been viewed more than 18 million times.

“I firmly believe that all human lives have value. Except pedophiles,” wrote one viewer.

“All’s well that ends well #justice,” someone else added.

But the clip has also sparked a backlash.

“The fact that he wasn’t talking to a real child and they made him think he was talking to a deceptive person means they are now being fined for his death,” one person commented on the post.

“Alex should be arrested,” wrote another in response to a post about Letcher’s suicide.

“I hope you get sued, idiots,” wrote a third person.

During an interview with Morello, Rosen said he was arrested by police after the incident, but was eventually released.

He was subsequently inundated with critics claiming he should be arrested for his role in Letcher's death.

He remained confident about his conduct, claiming that Letcher had no one to blame but himself.

“It couldn’t have happened to a worse guy,” he told Morello. “I know it’s still a human life and all that, but when we say pedos get the death penalty, we mean it.”

‘Someone has to experience it, so they can go to hell.’

“There is really no good reason to attack us for approaching an individual in this way. We never approach someone who we don’t have good reason to believe is hurting children.”

He added that even though Letcher was speaking to a decoy, he was still “a predator” by asking for explicit photos from what he thought was a minor.

“If he gets excited about torturing babies, he can go to hell,” Rosen said.

Rosen’s group is just one of many groups involved in anti-pedophile activism and actions like the one against Letcher.

Some argue that their tactics actually hinder the work of police and potentially violate human rights and privacy, as they often broadcast their actions live online.

Although such vigilantism is not illegal, activists can be prosecuted if they break the law during their actions.

In 2021, Illinois pedophile hunter Kyle Swanson was charged with unlawful detention and obstruction of justice for his practices.

The charges were eventually dropped, but the case highlights the legal challenges such activists can face.
