Brentford and Crystal Palace will be gunning for a maiden honour in the EPL London derby at the Community Stadium.

These two teams had contrasting seasons towards the end of last season, with the Bees battling relegation, while Crystal Palace made a great run to the top half of the table following the appointment of new manager Oliver Glasner.

While Brentford have so far managed to retain England striker Ivan Toney and coveted manager Thomas Frank, Palace have lost key player Michael Olise this summer. There are serious doubts over whether players such as Marc Guehi, Adam Wharton, Eberechi Eze and French striker Jean-Philippe Mateta will still be at the club when the transfer window closes.

Brentford host Crystal Palace at the Community Stadium on Sunday, August 18, with kick-off scheduled for 2:00pm BST local time, making it a 9:00am ET or 6:00am PT start in the US and Canada and a 11:00pm AEST kick-off in Australia.

Below we outline the best live tv streaming services to watch live matches wherever you are in the world.

How to watch the 2024/25 Premier League season from anywhere with a VPN

If you find yourself unable to watch EPL matches locally, you may need another way to watch the matches. In that case, a VPN may come in handy. A VPN is also the best way to prevent your ISP from throttling your speed on match day by encrypting your traffic. It’s also a good idea if you’re travelling and connected to a Wi-Fi network and want to add an extra layer of privacy to your devices and logins.

A VPN allows you to virtually change your location on your phone, tablet, or laptop to access the game. Most VPNs, like our Editors’ Choice ExpressVPN, make it very easy to do this.

It’s legal to use a VPN to watch or stream sports in any country where VPNs are legal, including the US, UK, and Canada, as long as you have a legitimate subscription to the service you’re streaming from. You’ll want to make sure your VPN is set up correctly to prevent leaks: Even where VPNs are legal, the streaming service can terminate the account of anyone it deems to be circumventing properly enforced blackout restrictions.

ExpressVPN is currently our top VPN pick for those looking for a reliable and secure VPN, and it works across a variety of devices. It normally costs $13 per month, but if you sign up for a $100 annual plan, you’ll get three months free, saving you 49%. That’s the equivalent of $6.67 per month with code SPECIAL OFFERthat should be applied automatically.

Please note that ExpressVPN offers a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Quick Tips for Streaming the Premier League Using a VPN

  • Depending on four variables (your internet service provider, browser, video streaming provider, and VPN), your experiences and success with streaming EPL matches can vary.
  • If you don’t see your desired location as a default option for ExpressVPN, try the ‘Search by city or country’ option.
  • If you’re having issues with gameplay after enabling your VPN and setting it to the correct viewing area, there are two things you can try for a quick fix. First, log in to your streaming service subscription account and make sure that the address registered to the account is one in the correct viewing area. If not, you may need to change the physical address stored with your account. Second, some smart TVs, like Roku, don’t have VPN apps that you can install directly on the device itself. Instead, you’ll need to install the VPN on your router or the mobile hotspot you’re using (like your phone) so that every device on the Wi-Fi network will now appear in the correct viewing location.
  • All of the VPN providers we recommend have helpful instructions on their main sites for quickly installing the VPN on your router. In some cases with smart TV services, after installing a cable network’s sports app, you’ll be asked to verify a numeric code or click a link sent to the email address stored for your smart TV. This is where a VPN on your router also helps, as both devices appear to be in the correct location.
  • And remember that browsers can often reveal your location, despite using a VPN. So make sure you use a privacy-first browser to log into your services. We usually recommend Brave.
