Presenter Tess Daly’s age-defying secrets, including the £5 buy she loves
TESS Daly is back on our screens looking as stunning as ever in her co-hosting role on TV show Strictly Come Dancing.
The 55-year-old presenter has been dazzling viewers with her stunning looks and breathtaking outfits since the BBC series first began in 2004.
As this year’s celebrities and their professional partners prepare to win over the judges with their tango and waltz dance tonight, viewers’ eyes will undoubtedly be on Tess as well.
Tess has been a co-presenter of Strictly Come Dancing since the show started in 2004.
Bruce Forsyth called her ‘Miss Sunshine’ and she brings elegance and a touch of warmth to Saturday night.
But one thing is for sure: Tess doesn’t seem to have aged a single second. In fact, she continues to age backwards.
And it’s clear fans agree. Just last week, Tess shared an adorable snap on Instagram with her husband, Vernon Kay, and many fans wondered, “How is Tess Daly 55?”
What is her secret?
Here, OLIVIA STRINGER reveals all, including the bargain price of £5 that she says gives her skin that enviable “dewy and radiant” glow.
Less is more with makeup
When it comes to makeup, less is definitely more for Tess, who revealed Good housekeeping how choosing a lighter coverage actually made her feel more confident in her skin.
“I definitely wear less makeup, even on screen, than I did 20 years ago,” Tess says.
“For me, too much makeup, too thick foundation and too much powder settles in the creases and accentuates the lines much more.
“As I get older, I’ve discovered that less is more.”
Tess revealed that she is also glad to be done with her days of wearing blue eyeshadow and pink lipstick.
Eye bag ‘Magic’
Shadows under the eyes can instantly age the skin, but not for Tess: her trusted makeup artist Aimee Adams camouflages her shadows.
Aimee has also worked with stars such as Christine McGuinness, Amber Gill and Lottie Moss.
“She’s very smart. She has amazing tricks that hide the shadows under my eyes and the bags,” Tess revealed.
“Well, help me hide it! I’m like, ‘Can I please have a really dark smokey eyeshadow to hide the creases?’ She’s a magician.”
£5 skincare
Tess says her busy schedule often leaves her looking like she’s getting too little sleep, which is why she swears by Simple’s Booster Serum with vitamins C, E, and F.
This serum is naturally effective in brightening your complexion, reducing fine lines and protecting against harmful external influences such as pollution and blue light.
The product costs just £5 at Boots and Tess said her skin always looks “dewy and more radiant than it actually is.”
What’s more, Tess always swears by her own unique sleep trick to keep her skin looking radiant and fresh.
The presenter previously revealed on social media that she uses ‘mouth taping’, a method that helps you breathe through your nose for a deeper, more restful sleep.
Not only this, but during a chat with SheerLuxeTess revealed the budget skincare purchase she couldn’t live without.
She confessed: “As you get older, it’s all about moisturizer. I have such dry skin (which gets worse in the winter months) and I really like using those sleeping masks at night.
“I’ve tried everything and really like Simple’s version, the Skin Quench Sleeping Cream.
“It’s super affordable – I think I bought it at the supermarket during my last weekly shop! It’s amazing.”
Get up early
It is clear to see that Tess, who has had legs for days, is in top form.
But to get her lean and incredibly muscular body, Tess has revealed one of her biggest secrets…
Tess always sets her alarm for 6:30 a.m., 20 minutes before her two daughters and her husband, radio host Vernon, wake up.

She starts the day with stretching exercises so she feels like she has some time for herself.
Discussing her workout routine with E-mailOnlineTess previously revealed: “When it comes to exercise, I don’t like to sweat. Instead I do yoga, which I discovered when I was working as a model in the 90s.
“Sometimes I lift weights, which I keep behind the couch while I watch Netflix.”
Refrigerator is her ‘pharmacy’
Tess shared that she has always been interested in healthy eating and that she considers her refrigerator as her own pharmacy.
She previously mentioned that she loves ginger for its antiviral properties and often adds it to juices and teas.
And although she doesn’t deny herself sweets, she does eat them in moderation.
To keep germs and bacteria at bay, the former model takes a multivitamin every day.
Treatment boost
Once a year, Tess treats herself to an Ultherapy treatment, a non-invasive ultrasound treatment that firms and lifts the skin of the face and neck.
While discussing how it improves her skin, Tess shared Get the shine: “I notice that I look more relaxed, fresh and radiant, but it is not disturbing.”
She also revealed that she gets a sports massage once a month to relieve tension and that on her days she has a reflexology treatment, which she described as “absolute paradise”.
Keep doing what you’re doing Tess, it works great.
