Prince William and Princess Charlotte are fighting over who is the biggest Taylor Swift fan in the family after meeting a pop star on the Eras Tour, says royal expert

Prince William and his two eldest children were seen proudly shaking things up during a Taylor Swift performance last week, with them snapping a now-viral selfie with the singer before she took the stage.

But now it looks like William and his daughter Princess Charlotte are competing to see who is the star’s biggest fan.

Speak with ANDRoyal expert Katie Nicholl has given insight into the unlikely friendship between the Prince of Wales and the American pop queen.

She said that while Princess Charlotte is considered the royals’ biggest Swiftie, her father might be a close competitor considering his history with the 14-time GRAMMY Award winner that predates her birth.

Katie said the The 34-year-old hitmaker and 42-year-old William “have a great bond” and “are good friends.”

The trio of royals took a selfie with Taylor before the show last week that has since gone viral. It’s a rare occurrence for the singer, who never meets fans — no matter how famous — backstage before one of her Eras performances.

A source has since told the Mail’s Richard Eden that the meeting was initiated by the Blank Space singer, saying: ‘Taylor Swift was keen to meet the Prince of Wales while she was in London. They already know each other, so the meeting made sense.’

William and Taylor first met in 2013 at the Centrepoint Gala Dinner at Kensington Palace in London.

During the evening in 2013, the two were on stage with Bon Jovi singing his famous Livin’ on a Prayer. They were photographed beaming as they sang the lyrics to the song as they skipped across the stage.

Katie, who attended the famous karaoke night, said the evening was the perfect start to what would become a long and wonderful friendship.

She added: ‘There’s clearly a beautiful connection between the two of them. But William is not only a fan of Taylor, he’s also a huge fan of her music.’

And the affection isn’t one-sided. For William’s 42nd birthday, Taylor dedicated an entire grid post to wishing the Prince a happy birthday, including a selfie they took together before one of her Wembley performances.

The post was particularly special because Taylor’s Instagram is usually reserved for professional photos taken during her Eras shows.

The Karma singer captioned the photo: “Happy Bday M8! The shows in London got off to a fantastic start and quickly amassed almost 10 million likes.

William reportedly told Ronnie Wood that he would only attend a Rolling Stones concert if they brought Taylor, and he was also seen enthusiastically ‘daddy dancing’ to Shake It Off in the audience on Friday.

A second source told ET that Princess Charlotte was the driving force behind the meeting and that she is the biggest Swiftie in the family.

The source said Charlotte loved the performance and that all three children understand the value of appreciation and knew how lucky they were to meet the American singer.

After the performance, the family posted their special selfie to Kate and William’s official Instagram page, captioning the photo, “Thank you @taylorswift for an amazing night! #LondonTSTheErastour.’

However, Katie wondered who Swift’s biggest fan might be. She suspected that William might be her biggest rival.

The affection exists on both sides of the coin. Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce, who was also present backstage when the British royals enjoyed their VIP meeting with the pop singer.

The Kansas City Chiefs player is even more excited about the Royals than his girlfriend, who sings with Blank Space. The Kelce brothers recorded an entire five-minute segment raving about the Royals on the latest episode of their New Heights podcast.

The sports star even commented that “no other prince” does it like William, and praised the royal family for their down-to-earth nature.

“We met royalty, guys,” Travis said. “There was royalty on the show. I was lucky enough not to be stuck in traffic, so I got there early and met Prince William. What’s up with that? Your Royal Highness.

“Dude, he was the coolest motherfucker,” he added. “He was so cool.”

“He was great,” Jason echoed his brother’s sentiments. “He was a good guy.”

He later added, “They were great people, and that’s what matters. They are part of a monarchy [it’s] hard to be a sober person – I suppose. But [they] It came across that way at all.’

Travis, who also made headlines this weekend for joining Taylor on stage for a cameo, said: “Tay brought him out of his shell and they ripped him and they said he had a blast.

And I thought, I don’t know if any other prince does that, you know what I mean?

“In terms of royalty, it seems like they like to sit in the shadows of the show, but he was cool enough to be a part of it. That just shows how handsome he is!’

The brothers even praised William again for his parenting and said meeting Princess Charlotte was the “highlight” of the entire evening.

“If anyone is doing well, Prince William is doing well. Thank you, Your Royal Highness,” Travis praised.

The footballer’s comments about William’s apparent joy at joining the Swifties are an apt comparison to Prince Harry and Meghan’s relatively miserable appearance at a Beyoncé concert last September.

Meghan was spotted dancing the night away during the Cowboy Carter singer’s Renaissance tour in California. Prince Harry, however, didn’t seem too fazed, checking his phone as the party continued around him.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were among the thousands of fans who poured into SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

But Harry appeared somber and disinterested as the couple was spotted in a private box, along with Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland and Meghan’s Suits co-star and close friend Abigail Spencer.
