Princess Charlotte can’t hide her true feelings as she watches the Wimbledon final
PRINCESS Charlotte struggled to hide her true feelings as she watched today’s Wimbledon men’s final, in which Carlos Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic to retain his Grand Slam title.
Charlotte, 9, joined her mother, the Princess of Wales, and aunt Pippa Middleton for a girls’ getaway to SW19.
While Kate looked stunning in a purple dress by Safiyaa, the young royal was seen in a navy blue Guess dress worth £70.
Navy blue is a color Charlotte has worn several times – and she also wore a blue bow in her hair.
Her brown locks were tied half back in beautiful braids, secured with the bow.
Charlotte teamed the outfit with a pair of plain cream-colored pumps.
During the thrilling match, in which Alcaraz defeated Djokovic 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (4), Charlotte entertained fans with her hilarious facial expressions.
The princess gritted her teeth and bit her lip as she watched the game intently.
Charlotte couldn’t help but smile when she met Emma Radacanu just before the match.
The 21-year-old tennis pro presented Princess Kate with a beautiful bouquet of flowers while chatting with the royals.
Kate received a standing ovation from the audience as she walked to her seat, while Charlotte looked proudly at her mother.
Royal expert Ingrid Seward told The Sun why Kate decided to take Charlotte to Wimbledon today.
She said: “It was a long-held promise that Kate would take Charlotte to the final as a special gift.
“Kate felt guilty that she couldn’t spend as much time with the children as she would have liked, due to her exhaustion after the treatment.
“Charlotte has always loved tennis and her mother Kate took her to Hurlingham to play tennis when she was very young.”
Meet Princess Charlotte
Princess Charlotte was born on May 2, 2015 and has become a beloved member of the royal family.
She continued: “Tennis is a real family affair for both parties.
“So it’s a very special day for Kate, because she gets to share it with Charlotte. And it’s even more fun for her that Charlotte is there and explains everything to her in detail.
“It’s also a distraction so she doesn’t feel like she’s full and the centre of attention. Charlotte is also there to take things away from her. Kate was determined to be at Wimbledon on final day, if she could possibly do that.”
She said: “This is a positive sign for Kate’s recovery programme.
“But this is only her second performance in a year and possibly her last until after the school holidays.”
