Princess Dubai ‘appears to dump her husband by posting brutal Instagram message two months after the birth of their first child’

A Dubai princess has shocked the UAE by dumping her husband in a brutal Instagram post just two months after they welcomed their first child, sources say.

In a post on the official account of Sheikha Mahra Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the 30-year-old daughter of the ruler of Dubai, an impending divorce from her husband Mohammed Bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum was announced.

The post read: ‘Dear Husband, since you are busy with other companions, I hereby declare our separation. I divorce you, I divorce you, and I divorce you.

‘Watch out. Your ex-wife.’

It appears the two have unfollowed each other on social media and have deleted all posts in which they appeared together from their accounts.

They officially married over a year ago, in May 2023, and had a baby girl in May of this year.

There has been no official statement from the House of Maktoum, the royal family that rules Dubai and from which Sheikha Mahra hails. Many on social media have speculated that the princess’s account may have been hacked.

One social media user said: ‘I find it an encouraging feeling when a woman recognises her worth and confidently takes a stand.’

Another said, “This isn’t the beginning of a new chapter in your life. This is the beginning of a new book. Congratulations.”

Sheikh Mahra is the daughter of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the ruler of Dubai and the Prime Minister of the UAE, making him the head of government of his country.

Sheikh Mohammed is reportedly one of the UK’s largest landowners, owning more than 40,000 acres across London, Scotland and Newmarket. The Guardian revealed in 2021.

Last year, she graduated from an undisclosed university in London, where she received a degree in International Relations. In February 2023, she was photographed outside the Southbank Centre wearing a black beret.

The sheikha is an outspoken advocate of women’s rights.

Sheikh Mana is a well-known entrepreneur who has appeared in a photo with legendary footballer Ronaldinho and infamous social media personality Andrew Tate.

The two posts by the self-proclaimed misogynist were tagged with ‘#togp’, referring to one of his famous sayings.

In these messages, social media users went on a rampage against him in the hours after his wife’s account announced the divorce.

‘Lol no surprise she’s divorced [you. Friendship with a rapist and women trafficker’, one wrote.

‘Now it makes sense’, wrote another.

Sheik Mana appears to have spent much time in the UK, especially in Windlesham, Surrey, where he seems to own a large property according to his Instagram.

He also appears to spend much time in the heart of London.

According to Expatica, an online site that aims to help expats across the world, while adultery does provide legal grounds to get a divorce in the UAE, cheating on your spouse is a criminal offense, leaving the adulterer open to criminal prosecution.

But ex-partners can be divorced in as little as one month, if they agree to a mutual consent divorce which doesn’t require a legal reason.

MailOnline has reached out to the government of Dubai for comment.
