Luis Campos revealed Dembele didn’t sign because PSG ‘played with a different system’
According to Fabrizio Romanothe PSG chief holds Dembele in very high regard and is said to have brought him to Paris “with love” in the near future.
Campos said: ‘We didn’t sign Dembele because he is a winger and we play with a different system.
“I love Dembele, he’s great, but we had other plans.”
The winger joined the Spanish giants from Dortmund in 2017 for a blockbuster fee of £136 million
An injury has ruined the Barcelona winger’s career at the Nou Camp since his blockbuster arrival five years ago.
Dembélé was out with a series of hamstring tears for most of the 2019-20 season and found himself back on the treatment table at the start of last season due to a knee injury.
The Frenchman has started this season with two goals and four assists in eight games across all competitions and hopes he can stay injury-free for Barcelona ahead of a long and disruptive season.
