Punjab: BSF finds 570 grams of heroin in Kilche village of Ferozepur – Times of India


FEROZEPUR: The Border Security Force (BSF) has recovered about 570 grams of heroin of an agricultural field in Kilche village of Ferozepur district.
According to an official press release from the BSF: “On July 11, 2024, based on information from the BSF intelligence service regarding the presence of narcotics “After receiving the consignments in the border area of ​​Ferozepur district, the BSF troops immediately launched an extensive search operation in the suspected area.”
“During the search operation at around 6.15 am in the early morning, the troops successfully recovered 1 parcel (gross weight: 570 grams) of suspected heroin from an agricultural field at Kilche village in Ferozepur district,” the report said.
According to the press release, the narcotics were wrapped in yellow tape and a metal ring and a small flashlight were found attached to the package.
“Thanks to reliable information from the BSF intelligence unit and timely action by diligent BSF troops, yet another illegal attempt to smuggle drugs across the border has been foiled,” the report said.
Earlier on Wednesday, acting on an intelligence tip-off about the presence of a drone carrying narcotics in the border area of ​​Taran Taran district, the BSF and Punjab Police conducted an extensive search of the suspected area and found 566 grams of suspected heroin.
