Queen Camilla reunites with ex Andrew Parker Bowles at their son Tom’s book launch in London – along with their daughter Laura Lopes and the royal’s sister Annabel Elliot

Queen Camilla proved to be the friendliest ex of her first husband, Andrew Parker Bowles, on Thursday night, as the pair reunited at the launch of their son Tom’s new book in London.

The king’s 77-year-old wife is said to remain “inseparably” linked to the 84-year-old former army brigadier, despite infidelities on both sides during their 22-year marriage, which ended in 1995.

In a show of their close bond, the two were on friendly terms when they reunited at Tom’s event, which was held to mark the launch of the food critic’s new book, Cooking and The Crown: Royal Recipes From Queen Victoria To King Charles III.

It seemed like the perfect opportunity for a family reunion, as Camilla was joined by her daughter Laura Lopes, 46, her beloved sister Annabel Eliot, 75, and Andrew’s niece Louisa.

Camilla beamed as she proudly attended the occasion in a monochrome polka dot maxi dress.

Cooking and the Crown: Royal recipes from Queen Victoria to King Charles III will be released on September 26.

Delectable royal recipes include Queen Camilla’s porridge, George V’s curry and Princess Elizabeth’s Bombe Glacée for dessert.

Camilla and Andrew, who is in a relationship with TV presenter Anne Robinson, have a strong and close friendship. Andrew even had a special invitation on the guest list for the King’s coronation.

Their close bond came despite a turbulent two-decade marriage during which they had two children, culinary writer Tom and artist Laura, but both cheated.

Camilla was Charles’ ‘mistress’ during her marriage to Andrew, while Andrew was described by friends as ‘very naughty with women’.

But it seems that all differences have been put aside, as the two are “inseparably connected,” as an insider previously put it, saying that they are in constant contact and make a great team.

“They’re inseparable,” a friend said. “He arranges so much for her. They have lunch together all the time. He’s right in the middle of it. He was always, and still is, Camilla’s accomplice.”

Andrew and Camilla separated in 1995. In a statement, they said: ‘Throughout our marriage we have always had different interests, but in recent years we have led completely separate lives.’

The following year, he married his long-term mistress Rosemary Pitman. They were together until Rosemary died of cancer in 2010, aged 69.

When Camilla died, it was reported that she was ‘deeply saddened’ by the news.

Andrew was a guest at Charles and Camilla’s wedding in April 2005. He attended the blessing service at St George’s Chapel, Windsor.

Earlier on Thursday, Camilla announced she was taking part in the ‘Silver Swans’ senior dance class during a visit to The English National Ballet in East London.

The Queen, who is the organization’s patron, said that she is not only a lover of dance “in whatever form” but that she herself also makes a foray into ballet. She gave a short speech on the occasion of the company’s 75th anniversary.

But when she became fascinated by the ballerinas’ rehearsals, she joked, “The ladies today would rather show me what I can do.”

Silver Swans are organised by the Royal Academy of Dance and are specially designed dance classes for older people.

The royal family had braved the rainy weather to attend rehearsals at the Mulryan Centre For Dance on the Leamouth Peninsula, near Canning Town station. It was her first visit since becoming patron.

After removing her umbrella, she was welcomed by Sir Rupert Gavin, chairman of The English National Ballet, and introduced to artistic director Aaron S. Watkin.

Queen Camilla wore a pale blue silk dress by London-based designer Anna Valentine and accessorised her outfit with a gold and red brooch.

She wore a number of gold and silver bracelets on her right wrist and what appeared to be a royal blue woven friendship bracelet on her left wrist.

The Queen, who stressed how ‘proud’ she was to be patron of the English National Ballet, completed her look with a pair of cream and black round-toe pumps.

In an informal speech delivered over a huge birthday cake celebrating the company’s 75th anniversary, she said: “I love ballet. In any form, I love dance.”

She explained that she was also a patron of ballet schools, adding: ‘I do a bit of Silver Swans myself. The ladies today prefer to show me. I love it.

“It’s very exciting to be able to say that I am a patron.”

Queen Camilla then wished the ballet company “a very happy 75th birthday” and said: “I hope to see you many more times in the future. Enjoy the cake.”

During her visit, the Queen watched in admiration as a ballerina rehearsed in a studio and spoke to staff members.

She also had to deal with what appeared to be a dress rehearsal, with a pair of dancers performing impressive lifts.

English National Ballet performs throughout the UK and internationally, bringing world-class ballet to the widest possible audience.
