Queen Margrethe van Denmark was recently admitted to the hospital before he was released only a few days later.

But the quick -fire series of the Danish Royal House in response to the former monarch ‘Contracting A Cold’ has raised eyebrows under Royal Watchers.

On Thursday, May 8, the Danish Royal House released an official rackConfirming the 85-year-old was admitted to the hospital.

The translated message was: “As a result of the cold HM queen Margrethe, a contract has concluded, it has been decided that the queen will be admitted to Rigshospitalet as a precaution.”

In combination, the Danish royal house knew the Margrethe calendar and canceled an upcoming planned engagement.

Queen Margrethe would attend the Sankt Lukas Foundation for his 125 -year anniversary in Hellerup, but this was quickly removed from the Royal Calendar.

Only a day later there was a promising update about the health of the queen when the palace issued a follow-up rack.

“HM Queen Margrethe is still being admitted to the hospital in Rigshospitalet on Friday morning,” read the second update in the same number of days.

Only four days before he was admitted to hospital as a 'precautionary measure' on 8 May, Queen Margrethe was fortunately seen when attending a service to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Denmark in Copenhagen on 4 May

‘Her Majesty is recovering and is cheerful. Queen Margrethe is therefore expected to be dismissed from the Rigshospitalet at the weekend and return to the Palace of Fredenborg. ‘

The next day the palace gave a third consecutive rack stated that the older queen was officially ‘discharged’ on the morning of Saturday 10 May.

“Her Majesty is good and is now back in her home in Fredenborg Palace,” said the statement.

While the last hospitalization of the Danish Royal was done as a ‘precautionary measure’, the succession of health updates from the palace together with the rapid cancellation of its presence of the event can ensure concern about the general health and well -being of Margrethe.

When Queen Margrethe made the unexpected decision to close the throne in January 2024, she became the first Danish sovereign who voluntarily resigned in almost 900 years. The crown passed to her oldest son, who is now known as King Frederik X, while his wife is stylized as Queen Mary.

The shock -desired speech on New Year’s Eve 2023 saw Queen Margrethe refer to her declining health as a floating factor behind her decision to transfer the monarch role to her eldest son.

The speech also saw Queen Margrethe explicitly refer to her ‘extensive back operation’ in 2023.

‘Inevitably, the operation gave reason to thoughts about the future – whether a suitable time would be to pass the responsibility to the next generation. I decided that it is now the right time, “she said in the unexpected announcement of the abdication.

The abdication became officially in January 2024, and although Queen Margrethe is no longer monarch, she continued to keep her Queen title and is still stylized as her majesty.

Margrethe has continued to maintain an active schedule of royal engagement in the same way.

However, this latest health hic cup and the corresponding fast cancellation of its upcoming event calendar have made Royal Watchers think whether this is a pattern that we have to expect repeated in the future.

Since last year, Margrethe also had another health episode to have dropped out in the Castle of Fredenborg.

In September 2024 it was confirmed that the Octogenarian had suffered a damaged vertebrae in her neck and a break in her left hand after the accident.

“According to the circumstances, the queen is doing well, but was allowed for observation for the time being,” said the head of communication, Lene Balleby, at the time.

Since its recovery, the former sovereign is now sometimes seen with a stick for support.

Prior to this latest precaution in the hospital, Margrethe was recently seen only four days earlier at a service to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Denmark.

A few weeks before, the queen was in jovial spirits when she celebrated her 85th birthday with family in the castle of Fredenborg.

On April 16, she organized an intimate birthday board and even looked a cake with dozens of candles.

Despite Margrethe’s latest health fear, it was as usual for her daughter -in -law, Queen Mary.

The day after the announcement of the hospitalization of Margrethe, Royal was born in Aussie on the way to the island of Bornholm.

Although the queen did not offer a statement or update on the health of Margrethe during the visit, Mary was her usual warm and balanced self when they greeted royal benefactors.

Queen Mary also met patients and medical staff in a local dialysis clinic in her capacity as patron for the Danish kidney association.
