The answers to today’s Quordle, game #1030, are…

I almost failed here for the second day in a row, with the culprit this time being FOIST. Actually, the culprit was my brain, which should have seen that FOIST, JOIST, and MOIST were all valid answers to -OIST (already ruling out HOIST), and therefore I should have played something like JUMBO to rule out two of them. I didn’t, so I wasted three guesses getting that one right and had to solve the rest with no room left.

Luckily I did that today, and guessing JOIST earlier gave me the JI I needed for NINJA, perhaps an even more difficult word, with its repeated N, unusual J, and unusual format. I’ll try even harder tomorrow!
