Rahul asks Birla to delete BJP MPs' comments against him

NEW DELHI: Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday met Speaker Om Birla and urged him to address the comments of BJP MPs against him, and ensure that the House functions smoothly.
After the meeting, Gandhi said the chairman has assured him that he will look into the issue.
Gandhi also said that BJP was leveling baseless allegations against him to divert attention Adani issuebut he will not be provoked and will remain focused on the issues that Congress raises.
“They (BJP) keep making all kinds of baseless allegations, but we have decided that we want the House to function,” Gandhi told reporters. “It is not our responsibility to run the House, but I say we will give our 100% to run the House,” he added.
“It is very simple: they do not want any discussion on the Adani issue and want to divert attention from the Adani issue. You know, we’re not going to leave them at the end,” he added.
