Rahul Gandhi blames ‘Adani power, Modi power’ after power outage at presser; BJP’s ‘Jairam Ramesh’ jab | India News – Times of India
While Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha blamed Rahul Gandhi for the power outage ‘Adani power, Modi power’ during the press conference, the BJP in turn took a dig at the Congress leader and told his colleague ‘Jairam Ramesh must have cut the power’ . .
During the day, Rahul Gandhi held a press conference in New Delhi demanding Adani’s immediate arrest after the industrialist was indicted in the US for alleged bribery and fraud. However, the microphone turned off for a few seconds in the middle of his statement. When power returned, Rahul Gandhi mockingly said, “Adani power, Modi power, I don’t know which power it is. But both are one.”
After a few hours, BJP’s Sambit Patra also held a rebuttal press conference and lashed out at the power outage during Gandhi’s press conference, claiming that it must have been shut down by Gandhi’s own colleague Jairam Ramesh.
“Rahul Gandhi keeps repeating the same thing during the press conference. There was a power outage during his press conference for which he again blamed Adani and Prime Minister Modi. It’s his office, his electricity… I think his own people must have disconnected the power. ” I think Jairam Ramesh must have disconnected the power,” said BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra.
Patra also accused Rahul Gandhi of using the issue just before the Parliament session to create chaos. “It is Rahul Gandhi’s usual tactic to attack India and structures defending the country, he has similarly raised the Rafale issue,” Patra added.

Meanwhile, the Adani Group has dismissed US prosecutors’ charges.
“The allegations made by the U.S. Department of Justice and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission against the directors of Adani Green are baseless and denied,” the conglomerate said in a statement, adding that “all appropriate legal action will be pursued.”
The indictment accuses Adani and several subordinates of paying huge sums of more than $250 million in bribes to government officials for lucrative solar energy supply contracts.
The deals were expected to generate more than $2 billion in after-tax profits over about 20 years.
“The Adani Group has always been committed and steadfastly committed to maintaining the highest standards of governance, transparency and regulatory compliance across all jurisdictions of its operations,” the statement said.
“We assure our stakeholders, partners and employees that we are a law-abiding organization, fully compliant with all laws,” the report said.
