Rahul Gandhi meets family of late Captain Anshuman Singh; mother urges govt to pull out Agniveer | India News – Times of India


NEW DELHI: Rahul Gandhi on tuesday the family of the last met Captain Anshuman Singh in Raebareli. Later, the captain mother spoke to reporters and urged government around the Activate regulation.
“I request the government not to divide the army into two categories,” Manju Singh told reporters after the meeting.
“They (Agniveers) will be mentally and physically weak after four years and will not be able to continue their studies… this is not good,” she added.
Captain Anshuman Singh died last year after sustaining severe burn injuries while trying to rescue people in a fire accident in Siachen. He was posthumously awarded the Kirti Chakra by President Droupadi Murmu on July 5.
Rahul also paid his respects at the martyrs’ memorial in Lalganj, laid a wreath and planted a sapling. Later, he visited AIIMS-Raebareli.
