Rangers issued a damn statement after they had been denied a goal in today’s match against HIBS.

Cyriel Dessers had opened the score for Gers after three minutes, but Nicolas Raskin thought he had set up the light blues 2-0 when he flashed the ball past Jordan Smith and strived for the net.

Rocky Bushiri tried to recover and managed to get his foot to the ball, but it seemed that it had already exceeded the line by that time.

Referee Nick Walsh, however, did not give a signal for a goal and VAR did not intervene either.

What made things worse for Gers is that Hibs went a little later the other end and scored via Kieron Bowie.

The match itself ended 2-2 with Raskin scored in the second half before Martin Boyle struck with his 99th goal for the club to be the same.

On full-time, Ibrox-Interim boss Barry Ferguson could not hide his frustration with the controversial decision.

And his anger was succeeded by an official statement from the club.

Ferguson said: “I have to be careful with what I say. I don’t want to put myself into trouble.

“But that is astonishing.

“I saw it when it happened, I saw it again during the break and I saw it again at the end of the game. What is the point?”

Ferguson was then asked if he had spoken with referee Walsh, but he said: “No, he will not speak to you.

“The fourth official was brand new, but the referee? Not interested.

“I have seen it all season with bad decisions. Not only with Rangers but with other teams.

“But that was just surprised today.

“I don’t think you need goal line technology for that. It is clearly above the line.”

Ferguson also emphasized the penalty that was awarded during Dundee in their midweek collision against Ross County by Walsh, which was also closed by fans.

A Rangers spokesperson added: “This type of incidents again question the effectiveness of VAR and also emphasizes the need to introduce goal line technology to Scottish football.

“Our supporters, players and employees earn better.

“We will increase this with the Scottish FA and continue to insist on initiatives that improve the accuracy of decision -making.”
