Rarely seen ’80s movie star goes unrecognizable as he walks through New York after shunning fame
A rarely seen ’80s movie star has been spotted unrecognizable while walking in New York after turning his back on fame.
The actor left Hollywood in the 1990s to focus on his children after the death of his wife.
He confirmed this in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in 2017 that he has not retired from the big screen, but that he is more selective in the roles he takes on.
His last role in front of the camera was in 1997, before his hiatus.
Now the 71-year-old is pictured going about his day in New York, wearing a brown coat, flat cap and sunglasses.
It is of course Rick Moranis, famous for hit films such as Honey, I Shrunk The Kids, Spaceballs and Ghostbusters.

Reynolds himself tweeted that he “cried” when Moranis agreed to make the commercial.
It was after he left the big screen after his wife, costume designer Ann Belsky, tragically died of breast cancer in 1991.
He said he wanted to focus on their children, Mitchell and Rachel.
“I stopped making films around 1996 or 1997,” he said USA today in 2005.
“I’m a single parent and I found it was too hard to raise my kids and do the traveling that comes with making films.
“So I took a little break. And that little break turned into a longer break, and then I noticed that I really hadn’t missed it.”
