Professional football is back. The 2024 NFL season begins Thursday night with a rematch of last season’s AFC championship game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens. The Chiefs won that game in Baltimore to capture their second straight Super Bowl championship.

The Chiefs and Ravens are expected to be two of the conference’s biggest heavyweights again this year, each led by a two-time league MVP quarterback in Patrick Mahomes for the Chiefs and Lamar Jackson for the Ravens. It will be the first step in the Chiefs’ quest to become the first NFL team to win three consecutive Super Bowls.

There’s no word yet on whether global star and Chiefs superfan Taylor Swift will be in attendance to see her boyfriend Travis Kelce, but she should have more free time during the first six weeks of the season. Swift doesn’t resume her tour until October 18, when the second leg of her Eras Tour starts in Miami. In addition to preparing to hit the road again, Swift has a few plays set up for Andy Reid and the KC offense, Mahomes said.

The Ravens-Chiefs kickoff game is about to begin Thursday at 8:20 p.m. ET (5:20 p.m. PT)It is available to watch and stream nationwide on Peacock and also on your local NBC station via live TV streaming services.
