Read the aggressive note taped to the stunned woman’s front door when she arrives home
A WOMAN was shocked when she came home from work to find a passive-aggressive note on her door.
What was even more surprising was that she thought it was written by a child.
The woman took a picture of the message and posted it on Reddit and said she was having “problems” with her neighbors for.
She explained: “So when I left for work this afternoon I found this note on our door. “It was clearly written by a child, and if I had to guess I’d say it’s our downstairs neighbours.
“We’ve had problems with them before, around Christmas for example.
“They sent their teenage daughter to tell us to keep it quiet if we entered our apartment after 10:30 p.m.
“We don’t do laundry after 9:30, and we don’t run the dishwasher. We just walk. Communal quiet hours start at 10 p.m.”
The angry letter read: “Hello, this is a note to ask you to keep it a little quiet.
“You are too noisy every day [sic].
“It would be Nice to be able to sleep for once.
“I don’t understand how someone can be so loud all the time, like he’s looking for a job.
“I thought you had an elephant.”
The woman explained that she works irregular hours because she works in a restaurant, and so does her sister who is a nurse.
She added: “I really feel like other than the early/late walks we don’t really make much noise.
“It’s not even like we talk, because my sister and I are rarely home at the same time.”
The woman added that her leasing office had sent out an email reminding tenants that “footfall noise is part of living in an apartment” and that people “have to deal with it.”
She added: ‘My mother thinks I should take it to the leasing office and have it sorted out there.
“I’m not sure who it was, so I’m not going to go to anyone’s door to confront them.
“I just think it’s so weird and UNSAFE to send your kids out to solve problems with neighbors you don’t know.”
People were quick to respond to the neighborhood conflict and came up with suggestions.
Top 5 Reasons Why Neighbors Fight
A survey by Compare the Market revealed the top reason why British neighbours argue
- Broken Fences – At the top of the board were broken fences and who was responsible for fixing them?
- Parking: One of the leading causes of neighborhood disputes, with 54.1 percent of people having problems with people parking in front of their home, parking space or driveway
- Trees – complaints about a neighbour’s tree damaging your garden path were also common, with almost half of respondents finding this frustrating.
- Trash Can Wars – Outdoor trash can etiquette continues to spark some of the most heated debates between neighbors
- Nosy neighbors – some people have their eyes and ears ready to take a peek and cause problems for others
One of them said, “Thanks for the note, but please tell your parents to be adults and not send a child to do their dirty work.”
But someone said, “I think it’s an adult thing. People have zero writing skills, it’s a keyboard world.”
And a third said: “Put an elephant in your apartment and take a screenshot. Print it out and stick it on the note.
“’Yes, we have an elephant! Her name is Lucy.’”
