Realme may unveil 300W charging tech along with Realme GT 7 Pro
Realme GT 7 Pro confirmed to launch in India While the exact launch date of the next GT-series phone remains under wraps, a prominent Chinese tipster has hinted at its specifications. He claims that Realme will showcase its 300W fast charging tech during the Realme GT 7 Pro launch event. Future Realme smartphones are expected to adopt the 300W fast charging support. This charging solution can supposedly fill the battery up to 100 percent in just five minutes.
Realme’s 300W charging solution
Tipster Digital Chat Station (translated from Chinese) on Weibo claims that the Realme GT 7 Pro will get an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance. It is also expected to feature an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. Additionally, Realme is said to introduce a 300W wired charging solution alongside the next-gen GT series flagship phone.
Realme Global Marketing Director Francis Wong confirmed in a video interview in June that the brand is testing 300W charging. The charging technology is said to be able to fill the battery from zero to 50 percent in under three minutes, and fully charge the battery in under five minutes.
The Chinese tech brand already offers 240W charging on the Realme GT Neo 5, which is said to charge the 4,600mAh battery from zero to 20 percent in 80 seconds, from zero to 50 percent in four minutes, and from zero to 100 percent in under 10 minutes.
Redmi, Realme’s biggest competitor in the market, had already demonstrated 300W charging in February last year with a modified Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition smartphone. The charging technology can charge the 4,100mAh battery in less than five minutes. However, the Xiaomi sub-brand has yet to launch a device with 300W fast charging support.
Realme Vice President Chase Xu had confirmed the arrival of the Realme GT 7 Pro in India in May. It is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of this year. It could debut as the first phone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC in the global market.
