Red Magic Gaming Pad design and color options revealed ahead of launch
Red Magic Gaming Pad is launching in China on September 5. Earlier, the company had already revealed some key specs of the upcoming gaming tablet including its chipset, cooling, and display details. The tablet’s AnTuTu score was also revealed. Now, the design and color options of the Red Magic Gaming Pad have been revealed. The tablet was expected to launch with two display sizes. However, the latest design revelations do not point to different display sizes.
Red Magic Gaming Pad design, color options
The design of the Red Magic Gaming Pad has been revealed in an official Weibo after ahead of the tablet’s launch in China on September 5. The tablet is shown in two color options — Dark Night and Silver Wing (translated from Chinese). A portion of the back panel has a transparent design.
A vertical section of the Red Magic Gaming Pad back panel appears with a transparent cover. The brand logo is placed centrally on the panel, the camera unit is placed in the upper right corner, vertically below that we see an LED flash and a customizable, circular RGB light.
The Red Magic Gaming Pad’s front-facing camera slot is embedded into the right edge. The flat display has a large, uniform bezel. The right edge appears to house the power button, while the bottom edge houses speakers and a USB Type-C port.
Features of the Red Magic Gaming Pad
The Red Magic Gaming Pad is confirmed to feature a 2.8K (2,880 x 1,800 pixels) display with up to a 144Hz refresh rate and a 16:10 aspect ratio. It would be the “first naked eye 3D tablet” to feature a 90Hz AI-assisted eye-tracking feature. Previous reports had suggested that the tablet could launch in 10.8-inch and 12.4-inch screen size options.
Red Magic has revealed that the Red Magic Gaming Pad is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and packs a 10,100mAh battery with support for 120W wired fast charging. The tablet supports 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 onboard storage and comes with an Android 14-based UI.
The Red Magic Gaming Pad will be equipped with a quad-speaker system and the “PAD Magic Cooling ICE 2.0 Nine-layer cooling” (translated from Chinese) technology. For the optics, it will have a 50-megapixel and a 20-megapixel camera on the back and front respectively.
