The Redmi 10 in India is also teased to have a dual camera setup on the back, with a 50-megapixel primary sensor. Globally, the Redmi 10 was unveiled last year. The brand had also introduced its upgraded Redmi 10 2022 last month.
Redmi 10 India launch details
The official Redmi India social media account announced the launch date of the Redmi 10 in the country. Xiaomi also sent out a media invite for the launch.
In addition, Xiaomi has a special microsite to tease the launch of the Redmi 10 in the country. The microsite suggests that the Indian variant of the Redmi 10 could come with a separate specs list from what was available with its global model last year. The new phone also seems to be different from the Redmi 10 2022 that launched last month with a few differences from the original model.
Redmi 10 price in India (expected)
The Redmi 10 price in India is expected to be the same as the Redmi 9 that debuted in the country in August 2020, starting at Rs. 8,999. The older model now has a slightly higher current price from Rs. 9,499 for 4GB + 64GB configuration.
The Redmi 10 is also expected to be more affordable than the Redmi 10 Prime, which was launched in September with a starting price of Rs. 12,499.
Redmi 10 specifications (expected)
According to the microsite, the Redmi 10 in India will feature a waterdrop-style display notch. This is different from the global Redmi 10 and Redmi 10 2022, both of which feature a hole-punch display design. The new smartphone is also said to feature a 6nm Snapdragon SoC — different from the global models, both of which have the MediaTek Helio G88 chip.
The Redmi 10 in India is also said to feature a dual camera setup on the back, with a 50-megapixel primary sensor. In comparison, the Redmi 10 and Redmi 10 2022 were launched in the global market with a quad-camera setup on the back, although both phones also featured a 50-megapixel primary sensor.
Further, the finish of the Indian variant of the Redmi 10 also seems different from what was introduced in the global markets. The microsite reveals that the phone sports a smudge-proof finish with a textured design.
Other teasers available on the microsite reveal that the Redmi 10 will arrive in India with “ultra-fast” storage, “massive” battery and “fast charging” support. The phone is also said to feature a “large” display.
The Indian variant of the Redmi 10 also seems to feature a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. In contrast, the original Redmi 10 and Redmi 10 2022 offer a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
