Redmi K50 Gaming Edition with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 expected soon
Redmi is gearing up to launch the Redmi K50 series, which is expected to include four devices — Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Gaming Edition, Redmi K50 Pro and Redmi K50 Pro+. There is no official word from the Xiaomi brand regarding the official release date for this series. However, Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing recently took to Weibo to tease the upcoming launch event and interact with his followers. During one such interaction, Weibing suggested that the Redmi K50 Pro+ will be launched after the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition.
The information comes from a after shared on Weibo via Weibing’s official account. He was asked about the release date of the Dimesnity 9000 SoC variant to which he replied that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powered handset will be the first to hit the market. A recent report suggested that the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition will feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. On the other hand, Redmi is expected to feature the Dimesnity 9000 SoC in the Redmi K50 Pro+. Hence, it seems that Weibing has confirmed the release order of two handsets from the Redmi K50 series.

According to a recent report, the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition is said to feature a 6.67-inch Huaxing flexible display. It is said to feature Qualcomm’s latest flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. The handset is said to come with various gaming-oriented features such as dual VC cooling system and gaming shoulder triggers. The smartphone is said to house a 4,700mAh battery with support for up to 120W fast charging.
The phone is said to feature a triple camera setup with a primary sensor of 48-megapixel and 64-megapixel. Additionally, the rear camera setup is said to include 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel secondary sensors. On the front, it is expected to get a 16-megapixel selfie camera.
