Redmi Note 12 launches in India today

The Redmi Note 12 series – including the Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G, Redmi Note 12 4G and Redmi Note 12S models – will be launched globally on March 23. The Chinese smartphone company had also confirmed the launch of the Redmi Note 12 Turbo, which will be launching in China on March 28. Now, the Xiaomi-owned company has announced the India launch date of the Redmi Note 12, which is scheduled to debut later this month.

Xiaomi in a tweet announced that the Redmi Note 12 smartphone, a 4G device, will be launched in India on March 30. The official landing page of the device confirms some key specifications of the upcoming Redmi smartphone. The phone will be featuring an AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. The details also reveal that it will be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 4G SoC and will offer up to 11GB of RAM including virtual RAM.

Just like other devices in the Redmi Note 12 series, the Redmi Note 12 4G smartphone will also feature a triple camera setup on the back, including a 50-megapixel sensor. The company is yet to confirm any other details regarding the camera setup. Meanwhile, no specifications of the front-facing camera are known yet, except that it will be housed in a center-aligned punch-hole cutout at the top of the display.

The Redmi Note 12 features a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging, and has previously featured a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and an IP53 rating.

The report also suggested that the Redmi Note 12 is expected to arrive in Ice Blue, Mint Green and Onyx Gray color options, but the Indian variant was spotted in a Gold color option in the official tweet. The Redmi Note 12 4G smartphone was also spotted on the IMEI database in January this year with an Indian and a global variant.
