Xiaomi’s Redmi Note series has been getting a lot of attention recently with the January 2022 launch of the Redmi Note 11 Pro, followed by the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G in March. Within weeks of the Redmi Note 11 series hitting the market, rumors have already started stoking the buzz around the new Redmi Note 12 Pro series. The rumored flagship was spotted on the TENAA certification website along with key specifications such as model number, battery details, and display features. While the Chinese smartphone maker has not shared any details on the release date of the anticipated series, the TENAA listing suggests that it will launch in China in 2022.
The details revealed on the TENAA listings were shared via screenshots by tipster Digital Chat Station on WeiboThe Redmi Note series that has been spotted with model number 22041216C is believed to be the Redmi Note 12 Pro while model number 22041216UC is believed to be for the Redmi Note 12 Pro+. As per the listing, both devices feature similar dimensions and display size.

The rumoured Redmi Note 12 Pro series is said to come with a 6.6-inch AMOLED display with full-HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. Both models are said to come preinstalled with Android 12 OS along with MIUI 13 on top. The dimensions are said to be 163.64 x 74.29 x 8.8mm for both the models.
The said Redmi Note 12 Pro model will feature a 4,980mAh battery, which could come with support for fast charging. This could be similar to the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G that has 120W fast charging. The model could hit the market in two storage options — a base model of 6GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB inbuilt storage.
The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ model is also expected to come with a similar storage configuration. However, the battery is likely to be smaller than the Redmi Note 12 Pro that features a 4,300mAh battery.
The upcoming Redmi Note 12 series is expected to deliver better performance than its predecessors, which could also hint at the use of a MediaTek processor instead of a Qualcomm one. It is yet to be confirmed whether Xiaomi will opt to include the Dimensity 1300 or Dimensity 8000 SoC in the upcoming Redmi Note 12 models.

While the TENAA listings haven’t revealed all the details about the upcoming flagship yet, whispers suggest that it will launch sometime in May 2022 in China. In India, the Redmi Note 12 series could debut in Q3, around September 2022.

The TENAA listings don’t suggest anything about the pricing details of the upcoming flagship. Redmi’s latest Note offering, Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G is priced starting above Rs. 20,000. The new Redmi Note 12 Pro can be expected between Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 18,000 while the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ could be priced somewhere around Rs. 23,000. More confirmation on the pricing is expected soon with the company announcing a China launch.
