Redmi Note 13 Turbo expected to get Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC
Amid leaks of upcoming Qualcomm processors coming to mobile devices, a new leak has now surfaced that suggests that two upcoming smartphones could feature the same. Qualcomm is expected to announce its latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC alongside a Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 at an event on March 18 in China, as per a recent report. Now, a leak has suggested that a new Redmi Note series phone dubbed the Turbo is expected to feature one of the newly launched processors. More details have leaked about this mysterious handset, which is also rumored to be rebranded as the Poco F6 in some markets.
The information comes from a well-known tipster, Digital Chat Station, who posted a message after on Chinese microblogging platform Weibo. The post suggests specifications of the previously rumored device which is tagged as the Redmi Note 13 Turbo and marked as model V2352A. The Turbo, according to a older reportwould also be called Poco F6 in certain markets (including India).
Diving deeper into the Redmi Turbo, it is said to sport some flagship killer specs. One of the key specs is the soon-to-be-announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC. The processor is said to feature a single Cortex-X4 core clocked at 3.01GHz, four Cortex-A720 cores clocked at 2.61GHz, and three Cortex-A520 cores clocked at 1.84GHz for the CPU.
Additional details in this leak include more information about the phone’s display. The tipster claims that the phone will feature a 6.78-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution. The display will also have a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz and will also offer pulse-width modulation (PWM) dimming at 2,160Hz. The phone is said to run Android 14 out of the box, which means it should be running Xiaomi’s custom HyperOS skin. There’s also information regarding the Redmi Note 13 Turbo’s battery, which the tipster claims will have a capacity of 6,000mAh and will be able to charge via wired charging at 80W.
Details surrounding the phone getting rebranded as Poco F6 for India are a bit conflicting. This is mainly because the currently available Poco F5 (Review) features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 SoC, which means the ideal processor upgrade would have been the yet-to-be-released Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 SoC. There’s a higher chance that the Redmi Note 13 Turbo could be rebranded as Poco F6 Pro instead, which according to a recent leak, should offer a more closely related Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
Since both smartphones are yet to be officially announced, we advise our readers to take the above information with a grain of salt.
