Redmi Watch 2 Lite India launch is scheduled for Wednesday, March 9, Xiaomi’s sub-brand announced on Thursday. The launch of the new Redmi smartwatch will coincide with the launch of the Redmi Note 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G in the country. The Redmi Watch 2 Lite was announced globally in November last year. Key highlights of the smartwatch include a colour display, built-in GPS-based location tracking and 24-hour heart rate monitoring. The Redmi Watch 2 Lite is also said to deliver up to 10 days of battery life on a single charge.

Redmi Watch 2 Lite launches in India will take place along with Redmi Note 11 Pro and Note 11 Pro+ 5G on March 9. The launch will be live streamed via the brand’s social media channels.

In November, the Redmi Watch 2 Lite was announced globally as a toned-down variant of the regular Redmi Watch 2.

The specifications of the Redmi Watch 2 Lite in India are yet to be revealed. However, the hardware is likely to be identical to what was announced globally. The smartwatch in the global market comes with a 1.55-inch (320×360 pixels) TFT display and comes with connectivity options like Bluetooth v5. It also supports over 100 watch faces and over 100 workout modes, including 17 professional modes. The Redmi Watch 2 Lite also has a water-resistant build of up to 5ATM (50 meters).

The Redmi Watch 2 Lite also includes SpO2 and heart rate monitoring. However, the smartwatch is not a medically approved device like most smartwatches. It also includes sleep and stress monitoring, and can deliver notifications from a connected device.

Similar to existing Redmi wearables, the Redmi Watch 2 Lite is compatible with Android and iOS. The smartwatch packs a 262mAh battery that is rated to deliver up to 10 hours of use or 14 hours of continuous GPS connectivity on a single charge.
