According to a relationship expert, Leo men often choose age gaps because they make them feel younger. But that’s not the only reason.

In an interview with The US Sun, she explained why men over 50 sometimes prefer women who are about half their age.
STEPPING AWAY FROM TRADITION
In this particular case, Leonardo is known for breaking up with his girlfriends before they turn 26.
He previously had long-term relationships with Victoria’s Secret Angel Gisele Bundchen, actress Blake Lively and Camilla Morrone, but they all ended after a quarter of a century together.
He is currently in a relationship with 26-year-old Italian model Victoria Cerreti, who many suspect is the one.
Fans have noticed that Leo is stepping away from his traditional dating behavior.
Some suspected it was deliberate, but Knight said: “We shouldn’t get ahead of ourselves.”
There’s been a lot of talk about Leo’s tendency to date women under 25, and “some great memes and even birthday cakes” have emerged, Knight said.
After all, Vittoria Ceretti is still 23 years younger than him.
“It’s possible he’s now dating someone outside his normal age range to debunk the rumors that have been circulating for the past few years,” the woman said.
But Knight added that “it’s important to remember that she still fits his typical type.”
“Given Leonardo’s track record, you could argue they probably won’t last forever,” she said.
“We don’t know the ins and outs of their relationship, and who’s to say this won’t be any different!”
WHY MEN WANT TO LOOK YOUNGER
Of course, age gaps are not a new phenomenon, either inside or outside Hollywood.
“Strong men have been dating younger women for decades,” she said.

More and more people are coming forward with younger and younger girlfriends, like former New England Patriots general manager Bill Bellichek, 72, who recently spoke publicly about his relationship with Jordan Hudson, 24.
“This has always been a trend in Tinseltown,” Knight said.
“Look back at any decade in the past and you’ll be able to think of a couple with a big age gap – whether it’s Catherine Zeta-Jones or Michael Douglas, or Frank Sinatra with Mia Farrow,” she added.
Going to parties and spending time with your partner’s younger friends can be refreshing.

The “prevalence of these relationships in Hollywood” may be due to the fact that the rules “feel a little different” there.
She added that there is a lot of societal pressure that can influence some men’s preference for younger women, especially in Hollywood.
She said it might be “easier not to feel as limited by societal norms as the average person.”

Appeal against age difference
According to Knight, there are several reasons why a man in his 50s may enter into a relationship with a woman in her early to mid-20s.
“The reason for this varies from relationship to relationship, but it may be that it makes them feel younger or more powerful,” Knight explains.
She said it can be a way for men to hold on to their youth.
“Going to parties and spending time with your partner’s younger friends can be refreshing,” she added.
A MISCONCEPTION ABOUT THE BEDROOM
It’s also attractive that she has more energy in the bedroom, as younger women can be seen as “wilder and more promiscuous” — and even “stereotypically” more flexible.
Knight said this is “not the case”.
“Women don’t lose their desire for intimacy as they get older and there’s really no age limit for getting under the covers,” she added.
“Our own research shows that 66% of women over 65 have used a sex toy or would like to try one with a partner. So being adventurous in the bedroom isn’t just for women in their 20s!”

WHAT DOES SHE GET FROM IT?
“In terms of women’s interest in this relationship, it’s often attractive for younger women to date older men,” Knight said.
Women sometimes feel that older men have something to offer that they don’t find in men their own age.
Knight explained that “older men in our society are seen as more mature and serious than their younger counterparts.”
Of course this is not always the case, but the illusion of an older and wiser man attracts some people.
The “simpler and more romantic explanation,” she concluded, is that perhaps they “are the right partners for each other.”
