The female cricket worker at the center of the Tim Paine sexting scandal has filed a massive sexual harassment claim in federal court.

Renee Ferguson, 47, filed the claim against Cricket Tasmania, following sordid revelations about Paine sending her explicit messages and images.

Paine, 36, resigned as captain of the Australian cricket team over messages he sent to Ms Ferguson, including a picture of his penis.

On Friday, Paine decided to renounce all cricket in the wake of the controversy.

The woman’s allegation is unrelated to the Paine incidents but relates to another man in Cricket Tasmania’s office, news.com.au reported.

The document contains revelations that she previously filed a sexual harassment complaint with a hiring manager related to another Cricket Tasmania employee.

During a conversation with Paine’s brother-in-law Shannon Tubb, Ms Ferguson was subjected to sexual banter during Cricket Tasmania, including being told ‘Get on snap you mole’, in a Snapchat reference.

The sexual harassment complaint did not involve Paine or Mr. Tubb.

Ms Ferguson has reportedly resigned from her role at Cricket Tasmania after being charged with theft.

She is due to appear before a Tasmanian Magistrates Court in January over those charges.

A previous investigation by Cricket Tasmania found that the sexting was consensual, although her lawyers claimed she was not interviewed as part of the investigation.

Lawyers on behalf of Ms Ferguson have filed a 17-page document with the Federal Court for sexual harassment under the Australian Human Rights Commission Act.

On Friday, Paine chose to take a leave of absence from all forms of cricket “for the foreseeable future”, with his manager admitting he has “extreme concerns” for his well-being.

Paine resigned last week as Australia’s Test captain for men after the scandal became public.

His team-mates wanted the veteran wicket-keeper to face England in the first Test in the Gabba on 8 December.

However, Cricket Tasmania confirmed Paine will miss Friday’s one-day game against Western Australia so he can retire from the sport indefinitely.

The new revelations come after the boss of Tasmanian cricket publicly backed Paine over his treatment.

Tasmania’s chairman Andrew Gaggin claimed there was growing anger at Cricket Australia over their dealings with a man he described as ‘a beacon’ who played a key role in ‘saving the national team’s reputation’ after sandpapergate.
