A woman received a recoil after she has revealed that she had charged her mother £ 40 to set up her household accounts.
Laura Shahu, supposed to come from the UK, has 29,000 followers on Instagram, where she often places videos about tips and tricks that she has learned over the years about how to save money.
The mother of two recently shared a clip in which she revealed that her mother needed help in setting up her household accounts and getting her advice on the best possible rate.
Laura said: ‘Am I greedy to charge my mother £ 40 for setting up her own bank account for her? I know what you think – what kind of person charges their own mother to help them manage their bills? Well, I did that and it didn’t – let me explain. ‘
She said that her mother was ‘not very technical Savvy’ and was not ‘confident’ to find the best price -quality ratio when it came to sorting out her accounts.
She said that the couple ‘came to an agreement’ who led to Laura helped her mother to find the cheapest bills – if she gave her the £ 40 cashback she deserved as a ‘thank you’.
But some users of social media called her a ‘joker’ and said she should be willing to help her mother for free.
The creator of the content explained: ‘In exchange, if I get that deal for her via a cashback website, she would give me the cashback she would otherwise not have received if she had done it herself.

Laura Shahu said her mother was ‘not very technical Savvy’ and was not ‘confident’ to find the best price -quality ratio when it came to selecting her household accounts
‘In essence, she gets the best rate for her household accounts without doing the work to find it and if the best deal is on a cashback website, I get the cashback that my mother would have received differently if she had done the work herself.
“We see it as a win-win because she gets confidence in knowing that she gets the best rate for her bills, but doesn’t have to spend time to look for it and I get the little bit of cashback to thank you.”
Laura asked people’s opinions about whether they would ask their parents for money in exchange for helping them with admin tasks.
One person wrote: ‘That is madness. £ 40 is hardly anything, your mother has born you, you joker. Just help her. ‘
Another one written: ‘No, no, no, this is so wrong after all your mother has done for you.
‘This is the time that you should help her and show her how to do things. If she wants to treat you for your kindness that is up to her. ‘
A third said, “I would not personally, I would help her and show her and let her keep the £ 40.”
A fourth comment: ‘I think this is wrong, I help my mother as much as I can, I would never want anything back.

Laura received a return because she revealed that she had sued her mother £ 40 because she had helped her, but others agreed with her methods
‘For me it feels somewhat sad how money is aimed at you. Losing values such as respect for the elderly, family interests and returning to the parent (s) who raised us.
“Who had foreseen us for decades. If you think this is honest and justified – I wonder what morality you have in terms of finance. ‘
But others agreed with Laura and said she was very honest in asking her mother for the £ 40 cashback.
One said: ‘The manager I do for my sons-in-law-I should claim a salary! I just take the hugs. ‘
Another one written: ‘No, you are not, this is essentially a referral costs and you are the one who refers her. This is no different that you go to a broker and they take the referral costs.
‘She doesn’t have to go with your choice, but if she does, you’ve earned that cashback, if it’s a big amount, you might want to split it, but if you are both happy with the deal, nothing is wrong with it.
“She gets the best rate and you get a fee for your time and effort without it costing your mother.”
