RG Kar rape-murder case: Two more witnesses testify in court
NEW DELHI: Two junior doctors were examined in a special court at RG Kar Hospital on Wednesday in connection with the rape and murder case of a doctor, taking the total number of witnesses in the case to six. First suspect Sanja Roy was produced before Additional District Court and Sessions Judge Anirban Das at Sealdah Court for three consecutive days.
The legal proceedings have been conducted behind closed doors every day since Monday.
Two young doctors from RG Kar Medical College and Hospital appeared before the court on Wednesday when the proceedings began at 2 pm.
Roy was brought to court under heavy police arrangements. Two identical prison vans with mesh on the windows were present to transport him.
The body of the on-duty postgraduate trainee doctor was found in the seminar room of the state hospital on the morning of August 9, sparking outrage across the country. Roy, a civilian volunteer, was arrested by the police Kolkata Police the next day.
The Calcutta High Court later ordered a CBI probe into the rape-murder case.
