Ringwood North, Melbourne: Tragedy leaves two dead in massive house fire
Two people have died in a house fire in Melbourne’s east overnight.
Emergency services were called to a home on Glenvale Road in Ringwood North at around 3.45am on Saturday morning after the property was engulfed in flames.
When the fire brigade and police arrived on the scene, the fire was already in full swing.
The two dead people found in the house have not yet been officially identified.
At least twelve fire engines were reportedly on site for the fire, the cause of which is not yet known.
“The fire service tackled the fire aggressively,” a Fire Rescue Victoria spokesperson said.
‘The house was destroyed by fire and the roof collapsed.’
Shortly after 4:30 a.m. the fire was believed to be under control.

“Sadly, two bodies were found inside the property after the fire was extinguished,” a Victoria Police spokeswoman said.

Detectives from the arson and explosives unit and an arson chemist are also expected at the home.
Roads in the area have been closed.
