Arsenal fans have been warned not to ‘go overboard’ in their praise of new star striker Gabriel Jesus by Rio Ferdinand.

“I think the impact of Jesus has been unreal,” Ferdinand said on his… FIVE YouTube Channel.
“I think he has been a fantastic asset, an absolutely great asset to Arsenal, but please don’t go overboard like all Arsenal fans do.
‘If you have’ [Erling] Haaland doing a hat-trick over the weekend and you say, “Oh, Jesus still overshadows him,” what are you talking about?’
Arsenal currently top the Premier League table and Jesus played a key role in their early season form.
Jesus already has two goals and three assists and Ferdinand calls his impact ‘unreal’ so far
Mikel Arteta’s squad has yet to lose one game in the league and Jesus already has two goals and three assists after five games.
Jesus will be in talks, as many expect, for the golden shoe award at the end of the season, as he is now the key man at Arsenal following his £45million move.
“If you bring in top players who come from top clubs where they have been extremely successful over the years, they will expect that expectation. [of being successful]Arteta said earlier this month.
“Gabriel’s role here will be very different from the one he had at his previous club, which will require some adjustment and time.
“He’s done a fantastic job, we’re surprised how quickly he’s done it, but we have to share that responsibility.”
But Ferdinand wants things to be kept in perspective with Haaland, the man who replaced Jesus, already six goals after his first Premier League hat-trick at the weekend.
