Ross Bowen dies: Chris Bowen opens up about death of his dad

The father of Australian politician Chris Bowen has died.

Mr Bowen, the Minister of Climate change and Energy, spoke out Wednesday morning about the death of his father, Ross Bowen.

“My mother lost her husband and her faithful companion of 53 years,” Mr Bowen said.

‘Dad was a quiet man, but the hardest worker I ever met and a fighter for what he believed in.

“He went to work every night at 11 p.m. and worked all night to take care of my brother and me.

‘He never met anyone he didn’t want to help or support.

‘I will miss his jokes and favorite sayings. His favorite is “It’s time for a beer sandwich, but I don’t need the bread.”

Ross previously worked from midnight to dawn at the NRMA, where he was responsible for dispatching roadside assistance.
