The sun is shining, the suits are in the dry cleaner and the PIMMs are about to flow – yes, Royal Ascot is almost here.
But the largest flat meeting of the year, which starts on Tuesday 17 June, is so much more than a social occasion.
Here at Sun Racing is the only thing we are worried about winners and bashing the bookmakers.
Fortunately, no one is better to do that than our top tipster Steve Mullen aka Tempegate.
He tipped Royal Hunt Cup winner Wild Tiger last year on 22-1 and saw him win on 11-2.
Here he supplies four sizzling Ante-Post-Punts.
Qirat-Royal Hunt Cup 20-1
He ran an absolute cracker when he was taken in a photo for the Victoria Cup for the Victoria Cup last time and clearly loves the track and a large field.
That was more than 7F, but he also stays strong in the mile and perhaps just needed the run after six months off.
Hopefully the decent weather will continue as fast land suits and he can get another big prize for Ralph Beckett.
Ciceros Gift-Royal Hunt Cup 25-1
Since it is such a hot race, we can throw two arrows at the Hunt Cup and record Ciceros gift that would come straight under softer circumstances.
He ended strongly when the third time in group 2 Sandown Mile was a solid seventh in the Balmoral last time in October.
It has a big weight, but is good enough to make the frame.
Golden Handshake – King George Handicap
There is nothing that keeps the Royal Ascot -more than to see the red and purple colors of the king coming home at the front.
And the hats can come out next month for Golden Handshake that looks like he is prepared for the King George V Handicap.
That is the competition for three -year -olds on Thursday and the trainer of Golden Handshake won it for the king in 2023 with Desert Hero.
The hopeful of this year really attracted attention with an excellent second in Nottingham on May 20 when he was held out for a long time before he came home strongly.
The extra two furlongs at the Royal Meeting must be ideal and he is a nice prospect.
He needs another run for a disability marking, then it is all the systems that go with Ascot.
Time to run coventry stakes 50-1
This son of Dark Angel was just beaten by Stablemate Maximalized in a good starting competition in Haydock last week.
William Buick chose him above the winner and he looked very green when he was asked to make his effort.
Buick did not ask too many questions and he should take a big step forward and looks a better long -term prospect than the winner.
He is 50-1 for the Coventry Stakes that is worth a small interest in maximizing who 14s is.
