She admitted that she already knew she was “really grumpy” about the situation, but that it didn’t stop her from complaining.

The mother said: “Now that the summer holidays are well underway, it has become clear that getting up and going into the garden at 8am is their routine. And they scream. A lot.

“Then they go inside at 10:00 and it is quiet for a while.

“I can deal with it, I have two children and I know that’s just how children are.”

She said that her house was adjacent to two other houses, and that small children also lived in those houses.

And because there was only grass and fences, and no bushes, the sound was not absorbed and everything sounded extra loud.

The mother explained the problem: her eldest son, 19, worked late and woke up early because of the screaming.

She added: “Most shifts mean he’s home by 11pm and in bed by midnight. He’s becoming increasingly frustrated with the morning routine of the neighbours’ children.”

“I really feel for my son because he is woken up 90 minutes before he has to get up for bed. next one “The service is pretty miserable,” she continued.

The mother continued asking questions Mothernet users if it was unreasonable to ask them not to let their children out before 9am.

Many people responded in the comments, but they all said she was overreacting and that she should just accept the noise.

Someone wrote: “I understand it’s annoying, but you can’t just ask them not to use their garden at 8am in the summer. Can your son use earplugs? 8am is not early.”

Another commented: “8am? You are being completely unreasonable. Get earplugs.”

“There are alternatives to asking the neighbor’s kids to be quiet – which is impossible and rude by the way,” wrote a third.

Top 5 Reasons Why Neighbors Fight

A survey by Compare the Market revealed the top reason why British neighbours argue

  1. Broken Fences – At the top of the board were broken fences and who was responsible for fixing them?
  2. Parking: One of the leading causes of neighborhood disputes, with 54.1 percent of people having problems with people parking in front of their home, parking space or driveway
  3. Trees – complaints about a neighbour’s tree damaging your garden path were also common, with almost half of respondents finding this frustrating.
  4. Trash Can Wars – Outdoor trash can etiquette continues to spark some of the most heated debates between neighbors
  5. Nosy neighbors – some people have their eyes and ears ready to take a peek and cause problems for others

Meanwhile, a fourth said: “He has to wear earplugs. He sleeps during the day. It’s completely unreasonable to expect your neighbours to restrict their lives during normal family hours to accommodate that.”

“Very unreasonable,” claimed a fifth.

Someone else added: “Oh p**s off! Get your son some earplugs. Yeah you know, you’re ‘that’ neighbor.
