‘Run, don’t walk’ people cry over £28 Sainsbury’s coat that ‘fits like a dream’
A TOP supermarket has launched an autumn coat that “fits like a glove” and has a trendy print. Shoppers are rushing to get their hands on it.
Sainsbury’s own fashion brand, Tu Clothing, unveiled their Leopard Print Denim Jacket as part of their new seasonal collection.
Shop owners say: “You’ll be right on trend this season with our leopard print denim jacket.
“It has a standard collar, a full button closure and two side pockets.
“Wear with the matching jeans for a perfect fall style.”
The jacket is available in sizes 8 to 24, online and in store.
But with only sizes 12, 14 and 16 still available on the website, consumers are rushing to their nearest store to get their hands on them.
And while you’re there, you can also score the matching straight leg denim jeans – available in short, regular and long – for £22, or a midi skirt in the same print for £24.
After purchasing the jacket at her local store, the plus-size fashionista Poppy he cried out, “Run, don’t walk.
“Tu Clothing has a cropped boxy leopard print denim jacket. It fits like a dream.
“I went inside to get my dinner but came back with a hacket and a bag full of underwear.”
A second replied: “Girls, go to Tu Clothing for this leopard jacket.”
Another happy customer said: “I love this jacket! Nice pockets, fits well.”
Someone else chimed in: “I need the leopard jacket! I buy all my clothes from Sainsbury’s and always get so many compliments on it.”
A fifth wrote: “I love a bit of animal print, especially for fall.”
It comes just a week after savvy shoppers claimed Sainsbury’s has launched “the coat of the season”.
They also claim that it is the perfect imitation of a much more expensive brand.
The supermarket is selling the wool-look trench coat in brown, olive green and grey for just £45.
Fashion experts at Sainsbury’s claim the coat is “perfect to wear when the weather isn’t as predictable as we’d like.”
One fashionista enthused: “I never got my hands on the perfect Cos dupes that came out a few years ago, but I’ve always thought about them.”
Is supermarket fashion the new high street?
DEPUTY Fashion Editor Abby McHale weighs in:
Supermarkets have really upped their game when it comes to their fashion lines. These days, when you pop in to do your weekly shop, you can also pick up a selection of wallet-friendly, stylish items for the whole family.
Tesco has just announced a 0.7 percent rise in the quarter thanks to ‘strong growth in clothing’ and M&S has earned the title of the number one destination for womenswear on the high street.
Asda’s George clothing line earned the supermarket £1.5m in 2023, 80 per cent of clothes at Sainsbury’s were sold at full price rather than discounted, and sales of Nutmeg at Morrisons have also risen by 2 per cent over the past year.
How is it that supermarket fashion is so successful?
The clothing is not only affordable but also of good quality, and much of the clothing is part of programs such as the Better Cotton Initiative.
They often stick to classic pieces that they know will last for years.
And because they buy so much stock, they can deliver quickly and the volumes are cheaper.
